The first meeting of the new U.S. Department of Agriculture fruit and vegetable industry advisory committee is set for March 30.


Topics for discussion at the March 30-31 meeting include food safety audit requirements, the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act program, marketing agreements, commodity purchasing programs and local grower education initiatives. The advisory committee meeting will be in Washington, D.C.

The committee was established in 2001.

According to a notice in the Feb. 23 Federal Register, individuals wanting to address the committees should register with the USDA before March 1. To register, e-mail a name, affiliation, business address, e-mail address, and phone number to Pamela Stanziani at Pamela.stanziani@ams.usda.gov
