(Aug. 29, 1:50 p.m.) The Australian Produce Marketing Association Fresh Connections Conference, held Aug. 14-15 in Sydney, drew record crowds from all sectors of the Australia and New Zealand supply chain, prompting calls for a bigger venue next year.

“The conference was well-attended by representatives of all sectors of the industry and is one of the few opportunities in Australia and New Zealand for networking opportunities,” OneHarvest chief executive officer Rob Robson, a member of the association’s executive committee, said in a news release.

With more than 250 registrants, the conference included both an exposition and a strolling lunch on Thursday, and concluded with a keynote dinner on Friday evening, according to the release.

Discussions covered global and regional trends within the industry, sustainability and talent management. Additionally, the conference provided a forum for conversations on packaging, consumer and industry trends, and marketing.
