New Jersey cops are on the lookout for a bandit who stole a trailer load of bananas.

According to a report in the Gloucester County Times, a Vineland, N.J., man on July 11 reported the theft of 980 boxes of bananas from a refrigerated trailer parked at the Vineland Produce Auction.

The 38-year-old man said he last saw the trailer around midnight but noticed the trailer was missing when he returned the next day after checking with the driver to see if he had picked up the trailer earlier than scheduled, according to the police report.

The victim, whom the newspaper did not identify, valued the load of Del Monte bananas at $15,000.

The trailer has a $10,000 value.
