(March 7) WATSONVILLE, Calif. — As part of its commitment to building the bush berry program into a year-round venture, Jerry Moran has joined California Giant’s sales staff to manage the category.

Moran started with the company on March 5. He comes to California Giant after serving several years with another berry company as its international sales representative.

He will manage domestic and international sales of company-grown raspberries, blackberries and blueberries to existing retail and foodservice accounts. He will be working closely with other sales staffers on conventional and organic strawberry sales.

Born and raised in Watsonville, Moran said he looked forward to working for a company that also has roots in the community.

“I am excited about being part of this team as we expand the product line,” he said in a news release.

Anthony Gallino, vice president of sales, said Moran will have a large role in expanding California Giant’s presence in the bush berry and organic categories.

“We are really pleased that Jerry came to work with us and look forward to his enthusiasm complimenting our experienced sales team,” he said.
