The House Committee on Agriculture, as it prepares to draft the 2012 farm bill, continues a coast-to-coast series of hearings to receive input from agriculture industry representatives and the general public.

Four hearings in Georgia, Alabama, Texas and South Dakota are scheduled in the next five days.

The Georgia hearing was May 14 at the National Archives Southeast Region in Morrow, Ga.

A May 15 hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. at the Pike County Cattlemen's Association in Troy, Ala.

The committee moves to west Texas May 17 for a hearing at 9 a.m. at the Texas Tech Museum on the campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

A final hearing is set for 8 a.m. May 18 in the Second Floor Theater of the Edith Mortenson Center at Augustana College, Sioux Falls, S.D.
