Salinas, Calif.-based The Nunes Co. recently hosted a farm tour for 50 members of the Garden Club of America.

After a question-and-answer session with company president Tom Nunes Jr., the group toured the cooling facility with grower Tim Borel, according to a news release. They were shown various aspects of The Nunes Co.’s quality control, food safety and traceback systems, and saw freight trucks loaded with Foxy brand produce.

Tours of harvesting operations, including an iceberg lettuce field, followed.

The Garden Club of America is a national group of gardeners with over 18,000 members and 199 local clubs.

The Nunes family farms 18,000 acres in California and Arizona.
