Nomination forms for the upcoming Hass Avocado Board elections are due at the board’s Irvine, Calif. office no later than May 15.

Ballots for the open seat elections are scheduled to be mailed to producers and importers on May 29 and must be returned by June 30, according to a news release.

The two candidates receiving the most votes for each board seat will be submitted in July to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which will give final approval on the new board members.

The new members will be seated at the Hass Avocado Board’s meeting in November. The board, which was established in 2002, conducts generic avocado marketing for foreign and domestic suppliers.
