(Nov. 4) James E. Link has been appointed administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service, according to a news release.

"Jim Link's experience as a rancher, businessman and educator will be an asset in his new role at AMS,” said Bruce Knight, agriculture undersecretary for marketing and regulatory programs, in the release.

Link will direct several programs that aid in the efficient marketing of U.S. agricultural products, including food, fiber and specialty crops.

He also will be responsible for procuring fruits, vegetables and other commodities for the national school lunch and other federal food and nutrition programs.
