A California grower-shipper is recalling fresh parsley that may be contaminated with salmonella.

Moorpark, Calif.-based Muranaka Farm Inc. is recalling 1,005 cases of 60 count bunched parsley bearing the lot code #0023909, according to a company news release. The product was distributed to retail and foodservice outlets in California, Texas and eight other states.

Product was shipped in a brown wax carton with a parsley silhouette on the side and under the Muranaka label.

No illnesses have been reported.

Sampling conducted in cooperation with the Food and Drug Administration found salmonella in finished products.
