Calif. governor Arnold Schwarzenegger promoted grapes on a recent trade mission to China.
Schwarzenegger was promoting the California Grown program on the trade mission, according to a news release from the Fresno-based California Table Grape Commission.
In 2009, only Canada imported more California grapes than China, according to the commission. About 4.2 million 19-pound boxes were shipped to China that year.
According to the commission, a survey has shown that Chinese consumers prefer California grapes to those grown anywhere else, including China.
