A Philippines subsidiary of Dole Food Co. Inc. recently played host to a medical mission to the country.
The subsidiary, Dolefil, has now hosted three such missions in the Philippines since 2007, according to a news release from Westlake Village, Calif.-based Dole.
The mission, sponsored by Dolefil, the Philippine Medical Society of Florida, the Mahintana Foundation and the Mt. Matutum Health Care Foundation, provided medical services for people in General Santos City and in the provinces of South Cotabato and Sarangani.
Ten doctors and six nurses participated in the week-long mission, according to the release.
On a previous mission, Dolefil flew two Filipino children for surgeries in Florida, where they recovered for 11 months before returning home.
