The chairman of Dole Food Co., Westlake Village, Calif., has published a book about healthful eating and living.

Dole’s Murdock publishes health book

“The Dole Nutrition Handbook: What You Need to Eat and How to Live for a Longer, Healthier Life” was written by the Dole Nutrition Institute and overseen by company chairman David Murdock, who founded the institute in 2001.

The book is divided into three sections. The first, “What You Need to Eat Every Day,” provides information on 100 “superfoods.”

The second, “Total Health from Head to Toe,” covers overall health and the third, “Slim Down, Shape Up with the Dole Diet and Fitness Plan,” provides diet and exercise advice.

Murdock’s first book, “The Encyclopedia of Foods,” was written in cooperation with the Mayo Clinic and the University of California-Los Angeles.
