The Fruit and Vegetable Dispute Resolution Corp., Ottawa, Ontario, has terminated the membership of a Mexican firm stating that it failed to pay an arbitration award, according to an announcement from DRC president Stephen Whitney.
The automatic termination of membership for Frescos Mexico S.A. de C.V. in Uruapan, Mexico, was effective March 25, according to the announcement. The company reportedly failed to pay a $16,453 arbitration award, which is a violation of the DRC’s bylaws and rules.
The responsible parties are general manager Edmundo Gonzalez Oseguera, production manager J. Ignacio Gonzalez and Edmundo Gonzalez Jr., the DRC reported.
The termination does not alter the obligations of Frescos Mexico S.A. de C.V. regarding other payment disputes that fall under DRC jurisdiction.
