September will see a special focus on onions from Idaho and eastern Oregon in 30 guest services dining facilities ranging from an FBI lunchroom in West Virginia to a cafe in the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Fla.

The promotion is set to coincide with Sautee Month, according to Sherise Jones, marketing director of the Idaho-Eastern Oregon Onion Committee, Parma, Idaho. She said executive chefs at the 30 dining facilities are being encouraged to incorporate onions, particularly sauteed onions, in recipes during September.

Point-of-sale materials will be displayed to educate diners about the nutritional value of onions and their versatility. The materials will include the USA Onions logo that includes the Idaho-Eastern Oregon Onions logo.

Other foodservice participating operations include defense contractor General Dynamics; the cafe at the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.; and the National Gallery of Art Pavilion Cafe, Washington, D.C.
