The California Strawberry Commission, Watsonville, Calif., is launching a free strawberries app for the iPhone and iPod Touch this month.

California Strawberry Commission launches iPhone app

The app, available at iTunes.com, allows users to find out more about each chef and blogger as well as preview the range of recipes available. Food photography, ingredients and directions for creating each dish are accessible too, according to the release.

The app categorizes recipes under snacks and appetizers, breakfast, cocktails, main courses, salads and sweets. It’s designed to make it easy to access ingredient lists and instructions from places like the grocery store, according to the release.

Recipes range from shortcakes and pie to strawberry dumplings, salsa and ceviche. The app also allows users to share recipes on Facebook and Twitter or e-mail for printing and viewing, according to the release.
