Allison Myers, former saleswoman for The Packer and its affiliated publications, is now a merchandiser for the Chilean Fresh Fruit Association and the Chilean Avocado Importers Association.

Myers’ extensive background in the produce industry makes her a valuable asset, said Tom Tjerandsen, managing director for the Chilean Fresh Fruit Association.

“She has enjoyed working with the industry to develop innovative ways to communicate,” Tjerandsen said. “A successful merchandiser has to have that ability to bob and weave and choose the best pathway to accomplish a project.”

Myers’ job starts with the lead up to the Chilean avocado season. Her territory covers retail and foodservice clients in the Midwest, which are now covered by Barbara Glynn.

Glynn plans to continue working through a gradual transition to retirement, Tjerandsen said.

“She’s going to ease into retirement and work with Allison during a fairly substantial transition period,” Tjerandsen said.
