Jack in the Box's new Grilled Chicken Salad his the menu at its 2,200-plus restaurants late winter.

The new salad brings the 2,200-unit restaurant chain’s entrée salad menu up to three items, joining its Southwest Chicken Salad and Chicken Club Salad.

The Grilled Chicken Salad uses the same lettuce base as its other salads: a mix of romaine, iceberg and spring mix.

The leafy greens are topped with cucumber slices, red onion, shredded carrots and grape tomatoes, along with cheddar cheese, croutons and low-fat balsamic dressing served on the side.

The new salad is also featured on healthydiningfinder.com, a site with dietician-suggested meal options at restaurants.

“Guests seeking healthier menu alternatives will enjoy our new Grilled Chicken Salad,” said Tammy Bailey, division vice president of menu marketing and promotions for Jack in the Box Inc., in a company news release. “It has a wide variety of tasty ingredients and can be enjoyed as a balanced meal.”

San Diego-based Jack in the Box Inc. operates the restaurants in 18 states, and also operates and franchises Qdoba Mexican Grill restaurants through a subsidiary.
