Regional sales managers Lynne Greenfeather and Larry Mongillo Sept. 23-25 at Pack Expo 2013 in Las Vegas showed off new products for the company’s Autobag and AirPouch bag packaging systems.
Among the newest offerings is the AirPouch FastWrap, which “becomes a direct replacement for bubble wrap,” Mongillo said.
“FastWrap is 24” wide when filled and perfed every 6” when filled,” he said.
Like its popular bubble wrap competitor, FastWrap protects fragile items during shipment, so fresh produce would be a natural application for it, Mongillo said.
FastWrap’s technology includes EZ-Tear Perforations between each tube and multi-direction wrapping due to the channel-filled honeycomb design, patent for which is pending. The system’s dual belt drive and seal flattener are also patent-pending. The machine adapts to many films, is all-electric operated and can operate at speeds of up to 65 feet a minute.
Automated Packaging Systems also boasts new standup pouches, marrying the company’s FAS Sprint Revolution bagging technology with changeover of less than five minutes and in-house printing, laminating and converting technologies. Operating speeds can reach 900 inches per minute.
