Bob Moore, chairman and chief executive officer of Orlando, Fla.-based Intelligent Global Pooling Systems Co. LLC – also known as iGPS Co. – has been named Florida’s entrepreneur of the year in the emerging industries category.

CEO of IGPS Co. recognized

Moore received the honor from Ernst & Young LLP, New York, June 10 at the professional services company’s annual Florida awards ceremony in Orlando, according to a news release. He will now be among the state finalists for the national award to be presented in November.

Moore founded iGPS four years ago. The company is a pallet rental service featuring plastic pallets embedded with radio frequency identification tags. Use of the recyclable plastic pallets by the fresh produce industry helps to reduce the risk of cross contamination of food, according to the release.

In a statement released following the ceremony, Moore expressed his gratitude to Ernst & Young and to his employees and the shippers who have contributed to the company’s success.

“Together, we are keeping the foods and products we ship and buy every day out of harm’s way,” he said in the statement.
