(Sept. 14) C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. is going green in its new product line.

The Eden Prairie, Minn.-based third-party logistics provider expects to launch its full line of organic products — Our World Organics — at the 2007 Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit 2007 expo Oct. 12-15 in Houston, according to the news release.

C.H. Robinson chose to introduce organics to show its commitment to sustainable agriculture and locally grown and to offer its customers the chance to do the same, the release said.

“Through the purchase of Our World Organics, consumers are making a healthy choice for themselves as well as for their family, supporting their local grower community, and helping to save the environment for future generations,” Bud Floyd, vice president of produce marketing for C.H. Robinson, said in the release.

Indeed, C.H. Robinson plans to employ its regional and local growers for its Our World Organics line, which should begin shipping in mid-November. Each category — fruits, vegetables and value added — will be packaged in a different color, and, in the future, C.H. Robinson expects to transition to 100% biodegradable material, according to the release.
