(March 11) Brambles Ltd. of Australia, parent company of pallet maker Chep, Orlando, Fla., plans to acquire LeanLogistics, a transport and supply chain solutions provider based in Holland, Mich., for $45 million, according to a news release.

“Combining Chep’s extensive customer and information base with LeanLogistics’ customer network and innovative technology will enable us to offer a service that reduces transportation costs and optimizes supply chain efficiency,” Mike Ihlein, Brambles’ chief executive officer, said in the release.

The move will help LeanLogistics expand its technology to more U.S. customers and, eventually, to other countries, the release said.
