Produce distributor Custom Pak has inked a deal to market vegetables grown in a new greenhouse facility in Mexico.

Immokalee, Fla.-based Custom Pak, a division of Immokalee-based Lipman Family Cos., which also owns tomato and vegetable grower-shipper Six L’s, will sell and distribute tomatoes, peppers and other vegetables grown by Reshoot Production Co., said Darren Micelle, Six L’s chief marketing officer.

“We continue to see growth in protected agriculture, and that area of Mexico has shown success,” he said.

The tomato offerings from the greenhouses will include clusters, romas and vine-ripes, Micelle said. Both conventional and organic vegetables will be grown there.

Reshoot is in the process of organizing $100 million in capital to build 500 acres of Cravo retractable-roof greenhouses near Guadalajara, said Marc Schectman, the company’s director of planning.

Schectman expects a deal to be in place later this year, with production set to begin in 2011.
