(May 20) DALLAS — It’s been a busy year for i2 Technologies Inc.

The Dallas-based supply chain management technology provider recently signed Del Monte Fresh Produce NA Inc., Coral Gables, Fla., to use i2’s suite of transportation industry products.
This comes just two months after the company signed up Shaw’s Supermarkets Inc., Bridgewater, Mass., as a licensee of its Supply Chain Strategist planning tool.

For its part, Del Monte is planning to use the transportation package to help decrease operating costs and to better coordinate with its suppliers and customers throughout the supply chain. The package is designed to provide services in a variety of transportation-related areas, including transportation procurement, planning and execution.

Meanwhile, Shaw’s, which licensed the i2 software in February, is using the Supply Chain Strategist software to better align its stores and distribution centers.
The Supply Chain Strategist package is a scenario-based strategic planning tool designed to help organizations make educated decisions in the areas of physical plant locations, processes and distribution methods. It can help companies plan the best combinations of these areas.
