(Sept. 26) SALINAS, Calif. — Mann Packing Co.’s new director of sales plans to maintain customer satisfaction and find ways to improve business.

Tom Koster, a 12-year veteran at the company, was promoted from retail sales manager to director of sales Sept. 2. He succeeds Ron Fuqua, who left this summer to join Fresh Start, a Salinas-based buying broker.

One of Koster’s first duties was to hire someone to succeed him as retail sales manager. He hired Tim Tomasello, who spent the last 12 years with Ocean Mist Farms in Castroville.

“To recruit a person of Tim’s knowledge and ability in the prime of his career speaks well for Mann Packing,” Koster said. “We’re all looking forward to working with him.”

Mann has 16 salespeople working from its headquarters. It also has four regional sales managers under the management of Mark Plantan, director of eastern regional sales, and Craig Enos, vice president of retail sales.

Koster and Tomasello are graduates of California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, with degrees in agribusiness.
