(Jan. 19) An interim final rule changing the date when minimum grade, size, quality and maturity requirements are required for southeastern California and imported table grapes will be published in the Jan. 21 issue of the Federal Register.

The regulatory period has been changed from April 20 - Aug. 15 of each year to April 10 - July 10, effective for the 2009 shipping season, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The rule also clarifies the maturity (soluble solids) requirements for southeastern California and imported flame seedless variety grapes, the release said.
