Dave Baum, president of Pacific AgPak, said the company started shipping new tills in June to replace foam tills that don’t have the same environmental benefits.

“Foam was a natural target to go after,” Baum said.

Baum said the new tills will help reduce landfill waste and help meet grower and retailers’ demands to reduce the use of environmentally unfriendly packaging.

The tills are available sizes ranging from 6-16 ounces, club packs of 24 ounces and portabella trays, Baum said, and can be produced in any color based on customer preference.

Baum said the company also offers environmentally overwrap packaging adaptable for a wide range of produce items and for packing styles done in sheds and at the store level.
