The Produce Marketing Association is inviting southeastern produce industry leaders to participate in the groupâs next food safety symposium, scheduled for April 6 in Orlando, Fla.
The seminar, at the CHEP USA Innovation Center, is the fourth in a series of PMA food safety conferences that started in 2009.
PMA representatives are scheduled to discuss the latest food safety developments, designed to help participants develop strategies, according to a PMA news release.
âIt is time for our industry to think differently about food safety, for the health of our customers, our businesses and our industry alike,â Bob Whitaker, PMAâs chief science and technology officer, said in the release. âThese symposia encourage industry executives to understand why food safety is more than a plan on a shelf, the ability to pass an audit or an expense line on a budget. Instead, true food safety requires a new business model to better safeguard public health, as well as your own sustainability.â
