(March 3, 11:41 a.m.) Plastic fabrication provider Quadel Industries Inc. is adding more produce to its lineup by expanding its produce netting services and including netting header cards. The Coos Bay, Ore.-based company started manufacturing the net bags with headers in February.

Jason Luckman, sales manager, said he was finalizing his first order for one million bags with headers for mangoes in mid-February. He had another order in the pipeline for half a million bags from Rainbow Valley Orchards, an organic citrus and avocado producer in Rainbow, Calif.

“We’re going to start with lemons for them and go from there,” Luckman said.

Quadel has been packaging oranges from Florida for Dundee Citrus Growers Association, Dundee, Fla., but without header cards, Luckman said. Dundee’s products require 40 million feet of netting in one year.

The company also plans to expand its fresh produce business by attending its first Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit Oct. 2-5 in Anaheim, Calif.
