Santa Clara, Calif.-based RedLine Solutions plans to address the current state of the Produce Traceability Initiative, reviewing recently released best practices and interacting with industry leaders during a symposium.

RedLine representatives plan to talk about the company’s pilot test programs for PTI compliance during the symposium 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 2 at the National Steinbeck Center, Salinas, Calif., according to a news release.

In the traceability initiative, companies will be required to provide Global Trade Identification Numbers to buyers by the third quarter of this year and provide case labeling in the third quarter of 2010.

Redline’s chief executive officer, Todd Baggett, and chief operating officer, Chris Davis, will demonstrate other practical solutions for becoming PTI compliant.

One of the featured speakers is Gary Fleming, vice president of industry technology and standards for the Produce Marketing Association, Newark, Del. Fleming plans to review PTI milestones, according to the release.

Other industry leaders scheduled to speak include Tom Casas, vice president of information technology for Tanimura & Antle, and Phil Adrian, vice president for Coastline Produce, according to the release.
