RWI Transportation, which specializes in expedited and refrigerated logistics, has opened a new terminal in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.

Based in Wilder, Ky., RWI handles more than 100,000 shipments annually and provides refrigerated warehouse services in addition to transportation. The new terminal in Texas is strategically located to allow the company to more effectively serve the region, according to statements from RWI executive vice president Richard Bauer in a news release.

“It also gives us better access to resources to and from the West Coast, and gives us the ability to better source and manage equipment for more options and better service to our customers,” Bauer said in the release.

The new terminal at 4551 Leston Road is near downtown Dallas and close to Market Square, giving it easy access to main freight routes. It is being managed by Gabe Lopez. In addition to an advantageous location, the new terminal has a secured fenced yard and full driver amenities.

In a separate news release earlier this month, RWI unveiled a new brand identity designed to draw attention to the company’s full line of transportation and logistics services with the slogan “Performance in Motion.”

“RWI’s new brand reflects our ability to help customers to manage their supply chains through flexibility, creativity, and resourcefulness in our transportation resources,” Bauer said in the release.

A part of the Castellini Group since 1974, RWI was founded in 1956. About 65% of the freight RWI hauls is perishable, and it offers full electronic data interchange, satellite tracking and trailer tracking. It also offers refrigerated warehouse services.
