Packaging producer Smurfit-Stone Container Corp., Chicago, plans to showcase packaging products at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit, scheduled for Oct. 15-18 in Orlando, Fla.

Making its debut will be the company’s Ensulate wax replacement containerboard, which is designed to protect products packed or distributed in wet or cold-humid environments, according to a news release.

The Meta Tray-8, a stackable, eight-corner tray designed for extra strength on the packing line, also will be on display.

Earlier this year, Calavo Growers, Santa Paula, Calif., selected Smurfit-Stone as its primary supplier of corrugated materials in North America, and uses the Meta Tray-8 in its avocado-ripening program and for display boxes of bagged avocados.
