(July 12) San Francisco-based Sundia Corp. has entered a purchasing agreement with pallet services company IFCO Systems NA, Houston.

The agreement, announced in late June, allows Sundia’s network members who purchase IFCO’s reusable and recyclable pallets to take advantage of consolidated purchasing power, said Steven Fore, Sundia’s national brand manager of produce. IFCO’s services include pallet supply, tracking, retrieval, sorting and repair.

“Association with any national brand should come with a number of benefits,” said Brad Oberwager, Sundia’s chief executive officer, in an e-mailed statement. “At Sundia, we are constantly working on forging partnerships that will help our network members lower their cost of doing business.”

Fore said that in addition to IFCO, Sundia has preferred vendor partnerships with trucking company C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc., Eden Prairie, Minn.; MEI Labels Inc., Catoosa, Okla.; and packaging companies Temple-Inland Inc., Austin, Texas, and Weyerhaeuser Co., Federal Way, Wash.

Fore said Sundia has 15 network members, including Borders Melon Co. Inc., Edinburg, Texas; Leger & Sons Inc., Cordele, Ga.; Timco Distributors Inc., Woodland, Calif.; and Kirschenman Enterprises Inc., Edison, Calif.
