(Oct. 12) The Produce Marketing Association, Canadian Produce Marketing Association and United Fresh Produce Association have developed a joint Produce Traceability Initiative designed to encourage consistent traceability best practices throughout the produce supply chain, according to a news release.

The three associations are set to discuss the initiative during PMA’s Fresh Summit convention under way in Houston through Oct. 15.

Traceability should receive substantial attention during general sessions and workshops, the release said.

The names of industry leaders appointed to lead the new initiative will likely be announced later this month.
