Fort Calhoun, Neb.-based Wilkinson Industries Inc., a manufacturer of containers and packaging for foodservice, grocery and food processing, has merged with Dispoz-o Products, Fountain Inn, S.C., effective April 30.
Dispoz-o is a manufacturer of disposable plastic cutlery, drinking straws, meal and dietary kits, according to a news release.
Mid Oaks Investments LLC, Buffalo Grove, Ill., which has owned Wilkinson since 2004, purchased Dispoz-o for an undisclosed amount, according to the release.
“Both Wilkinson and Dispoz-o have differentiated themselves as niche manufacturers who have withstood the tests of time,” Greg Jehlik, Wilkinson’s president, who will have the same designation for Dispoz-o, said in the release. “Collectively, the companies have more than 100 years of industry experience. Both have been driven by innovation and, more recently, a commitment to manufacturing sustainable products.”
Wilkinson brought the first Swanson TV dinner tray to the market in 1953, Jehlik said, and by merging with Dispoz-o, he said the company will be able to extend its product line more broadly.
