Taking place concurrently with Fruit Logistica 2011 in Berlin, Freshconex is aimed at food retailers, as well as convenience-store and vending-point buyers; foodservice buyers; and related representatives from supporting value chain and service activities.

New this year is the Freshconex Route, which highlights fresh convenience products on display at the stands of participating Fruit Logistica exhibitors, according to a news release.

The Freshconex Route is designed to provide visitors a timesaving market overview of fresh convenience products as well as related packaging and technology. Available in the Virtual Market Place online as well as in the trade fair catalog, the route is intended to pinpoint fresh convenience product suppliers at the exhibition.

Freshconex will touch upon important links in the fresh convenience value chain:

  • fresh convenience products;
  • product ingredients;
  • packaging and labeling;
  • fresh produce convenience processing equipment and technology;
  • product quality; and
  • point of sale vending technology.

As part of the program, the Freshconex Business Forum will present a daily lecture focusing on the latest themes and issues driving the fresh produce industry.

Freshconex and Fruit Logistica are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 9-11 the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.

In 2010, more than 7,000 industry members from all over the world attended Freshconex, the news release said.
