Elgin, Ill.-based John B. Sanfilippo & Son Inc., has recalled two of the company’s Baking Classics brand nut products due to possible listeria contamination.
The products being recalled are Baking Classics Walnut Halves and Pieces packed in 16 ounce bags, and the Baking Classics Nut Topping that is packed in two ounce bags, the company said in a news release.
Consumers are urged to return the products to the retailers from which they were purchased for a refund or replacement. The Walnut Halves and Pieces have a UPC code of 04113001174 and a best before date of Sept. 24, 2010, while the Nut Topping has a UPC code of 04113002059 and a best before date of Sept. 28, 2010.
The company issued news release on the recall.
The company has received no reports of illnesses linked to the two products, it said.
