A new agreement between Nonpareil Corp. and General Mills expands the Blackfoot, Idaho, potato companyâs distribution of Betty Crocker branded items.
The April 21 announcement follows a November 2010 agreement between the two companies that has Nonpareil marketing fresh potatoes under the Betty Crocker brand.
âFurther expanding a partnership between one of the worldâs best and most recognizable brands with the worldâs highest quality potatoes ⦠will provide additional opportunities for our growing and packing partners,â Nonpareil vice president and manager of sales Scott Phillips said in a news release.
A Nonpareil spokesman did not return phone messages seeking details.
In a separate transaction also announced April 21, Nonpareil officials said they have reached an agreement to sell their farming and production facilities in OâNeill, Neb. Terms were not disclosed, but the news release stated the proceeds from the sale will be used for research and development.
âNonpareil will expand potato usage in Idaho, Colorado, Wisconsin and Kansas as we build on our reputation for developing innovative potato-based technology and enhancing the quality of food products,â said Nonpareil chief executive officer Chris Abend in the release.
