The Produce for Better Health Foundation has announced that September’s fruit and vegetable of the month are grapes and acorn squash.

The featured recipes for this month are grapes and grains, a crunchy side dish, and apple-stuffed acorn squash, a sweet side dish.

Both recipes are from PBH chefs, but consumer submissions are still encouraged. The PBH website also gives tips about this month’s featured produce, such as how to choose and keep it.

This is the first month for the foundation’s featured fruits and vegetables and also the start of its America’s More Matters Pledge: Fruits & Veggies . . . Today and Every Day.

Featured produce will be season-specific and will help those taking the pledge to eat seasonally and coming up with new dishes.
