The Produce for Better Health Foundation’s 2010 Nutrition Education Catalog is bringing back some old favorites mixed in with some new features.

PBH publishes catalog of produce activities

The Hockessin, Del.-based foundation distributes the catalog every year to home school teachers, group leaders and other consumers looking to teach and learn about fruits and vegetables.

The new catalog features Fruit & Veggie Scentsable Learning Scent Cards, an activity that promotes using the sense of smell for an added dimension of learning, according to a PBH news release.

It also has a 200-page resource book, Nutrition EZ, that includes copy-ready worksheets and a 10-minute DVD with nutrition activities. A Grab & Go Salad Bowl Set is also available through the catalog — a bowl with separate compartments for dressings and toppings and a cold pack to keep the salad fresh.

“These items are excellent resources that fit right in with Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move initiative against childhood obesity,” said Elizabeth Pivonka, president and chief executive officer of PBH, in the release.

The catalog can be used to put together Adopt-A-School packages, which PBH recommends to businesses or groups looking to make a charitable donation to local scout troops, church groups, youth clubs or organizations, according to the release.
