Wenatchee, Wash.-based Stemilt Growers Inc. has launched Spot the Stemilt Ladybug, the company’s first social media sweepstakes.

Stemilt Growers products feature social media sweepstakes

To enter, a shopper must find the ladybug on packages and Price Look-Up stickers of Stemilt products, take a digital photograph of the bug and post the picture on Stemilt’s Facebook wall or tweet it to Stemilt on Twitter. The five-day contest ends Sept. 17, according to a news release.

“This sweepstakes gives our fans yet another way to participate in our social sites, as well as a chance to win freshly harvested Stemilt apples," Roger Pepperl, marketing director, said in the release.

Six entries will be selected at random to win a gift box of apples, according to the release. The winners' names will be posted the week of Sept. 20 on Facebook and Twitter.

The late Tom Mathison, Stemilt’s founder, added the ladybug to the Stemilt logo more than 20 years to convey the company’s commitment to the environment.

“This sweepstakes gives us an opportunity to educate Stemilt fans and followers about why we have a ladybug on our logo, as well as share the ways we are continuing Tom’s legacy of sustainable business practices,” Pepperl said.
