Stemilt Growers Inc., Wenatchee, Wash., is bolstering its consumer outreach with a remodeled Web site, a new blog and more active involvement on social networking sites.

The Web site,, features dedicated sections for recipes, fruit health and nutritional information and a farming page showing current photographs of the company’s field operations, according to a news release.

The new blog is designed to work hand-in-hand with the Web site to provide grower stories, field updates and step-by-step recipes.

“The blog enables us to share more detailed information with consumers about our fruits,” Roger Pepperl, marketing director, said in the release. “It appeals to foodies and other curious consumers who want to know more about where their food comes from, how it is grown, and the different ways they can enjoy it at home.”

Stemilt’s social networking focus on YouTubeFacebook and Twitter are similar information and on a more frequent basis than in the past, according to the release.

Running through all of the media is a new Stemilt theme, “Find us, Friend us, Farm with us.”

Retail and foodservice also get extra attention on the Stemilt Web site. The trade page provides up-to-date information on Stemilt’s products and programs.
