Web viewers all over the world will be able to look in and interact with the United Fresh Produce Association’s annual convention in Las Vegas in April.

United Fresh plans Web TV cast for Las Vegas show

A Web site will feature several taped events and one major live event from the show floor on April 22, the association said in a news release.

“We will do a live broadcast from the show floor about the retail manager awards,” said Ray Gilmer, vice president of communications for the Washington, D.C.-based United Fresh Produce Association.

The one-hour live Web event will be targeted to produce marketers and retailers and will feature visits with winners of the United Fresh Retail Produce Manager Awards Program.

The session will begin at 1 pm. Pacific time in Las Vegas on April 22 and feature the capability of live questions from Web viewers.

UnitedFresh.TV will also provide news coverage of other educational programs, including reports from the traceability and food safety demonstration centers on the show floor, interviews with speakers and other highlights from the show floor.

Cincinnati-based Chiquita Brands International has sponsored UnitedFresh.TV at this year’s convention, the association said in the news release.
