Retail United Fresh sponsors German retail tour By Tom Karst May 17, 2011 | 12:19 pm EDT Comments Print A tour of leading discount retailers in Germany is planned as a part of United Fresh Produce Association activities associated with the early February Fruit Logistica show in Berlin. The Feb. 2 tour features stores operated German retailers Aldi, Metro Cash & Carry and Lidl, according to a news release from Washington, D.C.-based United Fresh. Participants will also receive a guided tour of notable Berlin sightseeing attractions, including the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie and sections of the Berlin Wall. Following the tour, participants are invited to a United Fresh reception at the Berlin Marriott Hotel. Registration is limited to 25 participants, with the cost at $100 for United Fresh members and $200 for nonmembers. United Fresh has a booth at the Feb. 3-5 FRESHCONEX expo, which is a fresh-produce focused Fruit Logistica exhibition. United Fresh plans to host a reception Feb. 4 at its booth.
