(UPDATED CONTENT, Sept. 14) Freshway Foods has begun production of fresh-cut green and red apple packs under the Mott’s label, the Sidney, Ohio-based processor and distributor said.

Freshway Foods became the Midwest processor for Mott’s fresh-cut apple line in May and started production in June.


The company is a co-packer for C.H. Robinson Worldwide, the Eden Prairie, Minn.-based exclusive marketer of Mott’s brand fresh fruit in North America.

Retail and club store packs, as well as foodservice offerings, belong to the new line. The apple slices come in clamshells, zipper lock bags and other packaging in a variety of sizes, according to a news release.

Freshway Foods became the Midwest processor for Mott’s fresh-cut apple line in May and started production in June.

“(We are) committed to seeing fresh, healthy meal options such as these apple items integrated into school menus across the country,” Dan Purdy, Freshway Foods’ vice president of sales and marketing, said in a news release. “We believe this is an excellent addition to our extensive portfolio of fresh-cut products.”
