As part of its sponsorship, USA Pears, also known as Pear Bureau Northwest, is releasing a limited edition Torin Koos trading pin for the Olympics.

Koos, who grew up in the Pacific Northwest, home to 84% of the U.S. fresh pear crop, will distribute pins at the Olympics, according to a news release.

The pins will also be available in grocery stores across Washington for those who purchase at least 3 pounds of fresh pears, according to the release.

Washington retailers Thriftway, Red Apple and Haggen are featuring pear display signs and are offering the pins for free by purchasing pears and completing a mail order form, according to the release.

The commemorative pins will be available for purchase online starting Feb 1 at a cost of $10, with all the proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club, a nonprofit organization Koos supports, according to the release.
