Wal-Mart and Safeway were among the winners at the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Solutions Association Collaborative Commerce Achievement Awards, announced June 4 at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Fla. The awards identify excellence in supply chain collaboration, according to a news release.

Wal-Mart received the award for Sustainability Excellence for its Sustainability 360 program, involving more than 7,900 stores, 2 million associates, 61,000 suppliers and 176 million weekly consumers.

Safeway won the award for Supply Chain Excellence for, among other things, cutting lost sales in half within six months of collaboration with Kimberly-Clark to improve in-stocks during promotions, according to the release.
