(Aug. 5, 12:57 p.m.) Neil Galone, vice president of marketing for Diamond Fruit Growers Inc., Odell, Ore., has been chosen to guide the sales department at Booth Ranches LLC, Orange Cove, Calif.

Galone becomes vice president of sales for Booth Ranches Aug. 25, said Loren Booth, general manager.

“He brings with him a wealth of experience that will take our marketing group to the next level,” Booth said in a news release.

Booth Ranches, one of California’s largest privately owned citrus grower-shipper-packers, has more than 8,000 acres of navel and valencia oranges and specialty citrus varieties. It operates packinghouses in Orange Cove and Porterville.

Galone said he began his produce career in the 1970s as a district sales representative with Sunkist Growers Inc., Sherman Oaks, Calif., before working in the Florida citrus industry for nearly 20 years.

He joined Snokist Growers, Yakima, Wash. in 2000 and moved to Diamond Fruit in 2005.

"I have known Loren for several years and I’m really happy to be joining this team,” Galone said.

Galone succeeds Tom Valenzuela who was director of sales and marketing. He left Booth Ranches earlier this year to join Mesquite Enterprises Inc., Visalia, Calif.
