Shay Kennedy, longtime vice president of Tifton, Ga.-based Georgia Vegetable Co. Inc., resigned from the company April 7.

Georgia Vegetable vice president leaves company

Kennedy, whose father founded Georgia Vegetable, said she had been around the business her whole life. Her official tenure there began in about 1983, she said.

“It was just time for a change,” Kennedy said.

Kennedy said she doesn’t know whether she will remain in the produce business.

Georgia Vegetable has not hired a successor to Kennedy, salesman James Kilby said April 28. Kennedy said the company would probably hire another family member.

Georgia Vegetable is a leading Georgia grower of beans, squash, cucumbers and other vegetables.
