(Oct. 23) Golden Stream Quality Foods Inc., Fishers, Ind., has acquired Homa Co., a Parsippany, N.J-based subsidiary of Paramount Farms of Los Angeles and manufacturer of dried fruits, roasted nuts and snack items.

According to a news release, terms of the agreement were not disclosed. However, the purchase did not include the processing and sale of Homa brand pistachios, which will remain with Paramount Farms.

“The companies’ combined product offering creates a larger, more comprehensive portfolio from which to choose,” George Pappas, chief executive officer of Golden Stream, said in the release. ”The two companies will offer consumers trail mixes, dried fruits, roasted nutmeats and a wide array of confections in a variety of packaging options.”

Golden Stream also named Stephen Crandall general manager of Homa Co. He has more than 25 years of experience in food industry management.
