(Dec. 13) IRVINE, Calif. — Jasper Hempel has been promoted to a newly-created position of executive vice president of Western Growers.

The promotion came on Dec. 11, said Heather Flower, director of public relations.

Hempel formerly served as senior vice president of government and legal affairs. It is not known whether Hempel’s former position will be refilled, Flower said.

Also, Western Growers is still determining what Hempel’s new duties will be as executive vice president. “Those are being worked out,” Flower said.

She said WGA is doing some shifting around in advance of the Jan. 1 retirement of Don Dressler, president and chief executive officer.
